Evan has recently made the trip to Rick's Main Street Studio in Clay City, Ky. to record a new project for all of his fans.
Rickey Wasson (Lead Guitar and Vocal for J.D. Crowe & The New South) is the studio/audio engineer for Evan's latest release on Truegrass Entertainment.
The experience at Rick's Main Street Studio is always great, Rickey's input is always helpful.
Evan got in the studio and recorded the tracks one by one, first playing the Guitar, then the Bass, then the Mandolin, and so on. The album will be called "The First Takes". Rickey and Evan laughed at the idea because it was said as a joke, after a few minutes that joke made perfect sense. It was correct. Evan had went through making the recording with the first takes.
It is perfect for Evan because it has the "Natural and Raw" sound that traditional bluegrass thrived on for so many years!
If you follow Evan you know that he is deeply rooted in the traditional sounds of Bluegrass, but also, if you catch him live somewhere you might hear Evan play a quick little jazzy lick and watch him and all the guys laugh.
Evan keeps the music interesting, and that is so important to listeners.
Be on the look out for his newest recording!
